Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accountable for:

  • Implementation and follow-up of all related energy conservation programs and initiatives
  • Verifying Infrastructure is adequate for operations.
  • Development, execution, and maintenance of business continuity plan
  • Requesting, analyze, selection, and administration of Maintenance Contracts
  • Purchases Requisition Generation and/or Approval
  • Continuous Improvement of existing Facilities Systems
  • Ensuring adequate use and care of facilities equipment.
  • Monitoring equipment life cycles and efficiency
  • Monitoring the maintenance system to ensure the effective use of resources to maximize equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Participation in internal and external audits including, but not limited to, FDA/TUV/ISO and E&S.
  • SOP Generation, Review, compliance, and Approval
  • Predictive and Preventive maintenance (e.g., vibration analysis, tribology, infrared, ultrasonic testing, eddy current testing, etc.)
  • Technical guidance, counseling on utility system to projects, troubleshooting, major repairs, design, systems configuration (electricity, water, alcohol, etc.)
  • Unit MRO, Including spare parts usage optimization.
  • Utilities capacity assessment versus long range strategic plan (LRSP)
  • Utilities systems gap analysis, identification, and prioritization
  • Utilization/Maintenance improvement based on equipment life cycle.


Assists in:

  • Assuring Facilities Systems are Adequately Installed
  • Assuring Operator and BU's resources have the Skills and knowledge to receive new utilities process and equipment.
  • Change Management Submission for Infrastructure Projects
  • Creating troubleshooting guidelines and/or applicable SOPs for process and equipment and repair
  • Defining utilities equipment maintenance requirements
  • Developing TPM/ PM/ PDM procedures for utilities equipment
  • Documenting diagnostics, solution method and impact in troubleshooting for utilities equipment.
  • Executing Engineering Tests/ Qualifications
  • Facilitating Maintenance Planning
  • Identifying Corrective/Preventive Actions
  • Identifying Opportunities for Improvements in Equipment Performance
  • Identifying possible causes of variation/ failure/ under performance for utilities process and equipment.
  • Identifying utilities process and/or equipment not performing as expected
  • Implementation of Optimization Efforts, Corrective/Preventive Actions and Equipment Upgrades
  • Monitoring Unit Performance, efficiencies, and key process indicators (KPI’s)
  • Obtain Scope and Approval for Facilities Projects
  • Providing Capabilities of Facilities Systems
  • Shutdown planning, execution and startup assisted by applicable departments.
  • Supports utilities operations with the required technical support, process control and methods.
  • Vacations & Overtime Administration for Non-Exempts (Kronos)

  • Analyzing through a structured approach to identify root causes.
  • Designing and Coordinating Engineering Tests/ Qualifications
  • Developing conceptual design-Infrastructure
  • Evaluating needs for Infrastructure
  • Identification of no-safe set-up
  • Improving utilities process KPIs performance
  • Investigating NCR, Quality Feedback and Complaint
  • Investigation (Data gathering of Quality issue)
  • Optimizing Unit Performance
  • Providing Support for equipment start-up
  • Repair and maintenance budget development
  • Startup Infrastructure Projects
  • Test Design for skills certifications
  • Final selection of resources
  • Test Design for skills certifications
  • Preparing training modules for skills certifications
  • Technical Academy design and delivery
  • Quality System Management
  • Participation in Validation strategy development for new processes (NP)/ new technology (NT)
  • Preparing Quality Plans for NP/ NT
  • Reviewing & Approving Design Control
  • Quality Data Analysis NP/ NT
  • Developing TP’s and Other Procedures for NP/ NT
  • Monitoring Unit Performance
  • Shutdown planning and execution.
  • Establishing Quality First Pass, DPM & CPM Goals (Once a Year)


Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in problem solving and decision making.
  • Knowledge of QSR (Quality System Regulations) and ISO 13485
  • Proven leadership and planning skills.
  • Good interpersonal and excellent Leadership Skills exhibited.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, and responsible person
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills in both English and Spanish are a must.
  • Teamwork and service oriented.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with empowered/self-directed work team preferred.
  • Able to work overtime if necessary.
  • Work under minimum supervision
  • Willing to travel.
  • Computer skills (i.e., excel, word, power point)
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance of utilities equipment (boilers, air compressors, chillers, air handling units, water purifiers, pumps, softeners, vacuum pumps, electrical generators)


Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Needs to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; sit and reach with arms; lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; requires close vision.
  • Utilizes reading, writing, speaking skills, analytical capacity, and judgment to solve problems.
  • Applies communications skills to perform work and speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
  • Incumbent could be exposed to fumes of chemicals


Experience:

  • At least five to seven years of experience working in facilities and utilities maintenance related to medical devices or pharmaceutical industry.


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably Civil, Electromechanical, Mechanical or Electronics.
