Job Description
Responsible for overseeing all procurement activities within MicroVention and for establishing Buyer goals to meet the business requirements for inventory control, contract negotiation, cost saving strategies, and operational budgetary spend. Mentor each team member in the Procurement team to ensure they are meeting their performance goals and work on their career objectives. Job duties:

Responsible for overseeing all procurement activities within MicroVention and for establishing Buyer goals to meet the business requirements for inventory control, contract negotiation, cost saving strategies, and operational budgetary spend. Mentor each team member in the Procurement team to ensure they are meeting their performance goals and work on their career objectives. Job duties:
- Develop companywide procurement strategies that drive cost effective solutions.
- Analyze current Procurement processes and propose continuous improvement.
- Create and establish efficient procedures and policies for the purchasing function that meets the quality and financial regulations.
- Establish cost saving & supply strategies to meet corporate goals.
- Perform supplier risk management and quarterly business review with top tire suppliers.
- Contribute to the development of new sources of supply.
- Obtain best value for all purchased goods and services.
- Issue PO’s, manage deliveries, & other tactical purchasing activities as needed.
- Ensure delivery of goods and services to meet schedules with minimal inventory.
- Lead inventory management control to meet the inventory policy.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to the supply base.
- Support the prompt resolution of issues related to the supply base.
- Authorize and approve procurements activities & purchase orders according to company financial policy.
- Negotiate supplier agreements and supply contracts.
- Foster the professional development of direct reports.
- Develop KPI and report relevant purchasing metrics.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
- Prepare and participate to regular quality and financial audits.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or Science.
- Seven (7) years of purchasing experience in an FDA regulated medical environment.
- T hree (3) years of management experience.
- Track record of achieving goals in a matrix environment.
- Strong background in Supply Chain Management.
- Advanced presentation, team facilitation, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong negotiator.
- Strong computer knowledge, including MS Office, JDEdwards, SAP or similar ERP.
- Must work well in a team environment with minimal direction.
- MBA a plus.
- Highly developed in management and leadership skills.
- High level of technical acuity and good analytical skills.
- Professional certification (APICS, ISM, ASP) a plus.
