We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience working with SQL Server. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking a lead role in our database maintenance efforts, participating in all activities related to the selection, creation, design, development, maintenance, and implementation of database supporting applications developed by the Moody's Analytics Economics team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database solutions for our applications.
• Support database functionality and applications within the non-prod (development, UAT) and production (live and disaster recovery) environments.
• Optimize queries and index data for improved performance
• Architect and model databases for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Develop database schemas, tables, and views
• Implement database security and data backup and recovery procedures
• Collaborate closely with Development and DevOps team members
• Research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in database management
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with SQL Server
• Experience architecting databases for performance, scalability, and maintainability
• Experience optimizing queries and indexing tables for improved performance
• Experience with AWS native cloud services is a strong plus
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server replication is a plus
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
