Freight Specialist

As a Freight specialist in our newly established Logistics Shared Service Center in Costa Rica,

you will leverage your logistics expertise to support and enhance transportation processes and systems within the supply chain. This role involves enabling systems, performing both qualitative and quantitative analysis of transportation data, and recommending improvements to day-to-day operations and new policies. You will be part of a team that is crucial in ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely transportation of goods.

Responsibilities

• Manage and Optimize Freight Operations: Utilize a Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage and optimize freight and transportation operations.
• Coordinate Activities: Ensure timely delivery and optimize transportation costs by coordinating various activities.
• Monitor Shipments: Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods by monitoring shipment status and resolving any issues that arise.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth transportation operations.
• Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of shipments, transportation costs, and performance metrics.
• Analyze Data: Analyze transportation data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Support Systems: Analyze data and update systems to support an effective transportation chain.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in transportation or freight management.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), such as SAP TM, Oracle TM, or similar.
• Proven organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in both English and Spanish.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, or similar.
• High level of accuracy and attention to details.
