Responsibilities
- Directly responsible for the equipment calibration process and activities for the site
- Directly responsible for the preventative maintenance activities for production metrology equipment
- Ensures all equipment at the site are calibrated on-time to pre-defined calibration and use tolerances
- Works with cross-functional teams and external vendors to coordinate calibration services
- Ensures purchase order generation for calibration services
- Schedules calibration services and supervises vendor services, as required
- Works this manufacturing, quality, and facilities engineers to resolve equipment out-of-tolerance and issues that arise during the calibration process
- Works heavily with acquisition and transfer teams during the PAR/PTR processes to ensure all new equipment requiring calibrations is absorbed into the calibration system
- Continuously reviews and seeks to improve the calibration process to drive efficiency and cost savings
- Defines opportunities to in-source calibration services
- Develops tools and metrics to track and trend calibration performance. Develops goals and objectives related to developed metrics
- Meets measures of performance:
- Meets calibration requirements on time
- Meets maintenance requirements on time
- Executes improvement projects on-time, on-budget, on-scope
- Ability to manage multiple commitments and competing priorities
- Ability to make financial analysis of calibration program at direction of management to aid in decision making
- Ability to achieve consensus and support for technical programs
- Perform other duties as directed by management
- Technical degree (engineering related desired), or 2+ years’ experience in a technical position in the medical device manufacturing industry. Previous experience working in maintenance and/or calibrations is desired.
- Experience in metrology and laboratory equipment used for measuring, analysis, and recording of data.
- Understanding of design concepts and GMP practices
- Understanding of ISO/ANSI standards
- Analytical individual who can take raw data through analysis
- Creative and detail-oriented individual who can communicate and coordinate good ideas through to implementation. Ability to communicate well, both orally and written. A quick learner.
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt & understanding of Lean Principles is desired
- Familiarity with programs such as Excel, MiniTab, Microsoft Word, Power Point, etc.
- Familiarity with Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Management system is desired
- Fluent in Spanish. Ability to communicate well in English, both orally and written.
- Passing of background check which may include verification of prior employment and educational records
