Job Description
As the Global Sourcing Analyst, your main objective is to implement sourcing initiatives that enable Emerson to procure goods and services at the best overall cost of ownership and highest quality. Responsible for assisting the sourcing team in providing sourcing support and enablement to include request for information/proposal/quote/bid execution, award scenario analysis, negotiation support, and sourcing pipeline management. Apply Oracle and other procurement systems to implement sourcing.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Perform the following functions in a given project:
- Project Management
- Data Management
- Supplier Management
- Market Analysis
- Provide insights to the sourcing and category management teams regarding negotiations and potential improvements to future negotiations during sourcing events
- Sophisticated knowledge of Ariba System
- Perform internal training functions for new hires and internal customers (advanced topics)
- Handle Complex Projects with several Business Units and more than one sub-category
- Collect and Finalize Business Requirements by identifying need and prioritization to initiate the sourcing process.
- Develop the Sourcing Approach by identifying suppliers and finalizing the sourcing strategy
- Analyze existing marquee suppliers for potential fit into sourcing event. If a marquee supplier is not available analyze other approved suppliers
- Identify suppliers who meet Emerson’s diversity requirement for the sourcing event and verify suppliers to ensure they are not on the “Do Not Use List”.
- Finalize the list of suppliers that will participate in the sourcing event per the competitive bidding guidelines
- Develop baseline, costs and saving estimate for the sourcing event by working with Finance and Category Advisory Teams
- Launch sourcing event within the sourcing Platform
- Create NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreements) and collect supplier certifications (as required)
- Develop and launch RFx based on sourcing event strategy
- Conduct supplier training
- Collect and analyze supplier responses, check for quality against needed requirements
- Conduct final negotiations with supplier based on strategy.
- Develop & Present Award Recommendations to Partners, award business to suppliers
- Lead Global Sourcing roadshows and capability reviews to Indirect Business Partners to add projects to the pipeline.
- Manage a team in handling a Continuous Improvement Project using a problem-solving methodology. Validate if the project idea is relevant and can lead to successful results through project breakthrough. Collection, analyze, and document efficiently implemented activities relating to the continuous Improvement Project.

For this role, you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business management, Finance, Operations, or similar
- Preference: Advanced course/ Master’s degree and/or professional certifications in Procurement, Technology, Leadership, Strategy, and/or Project management
- 5+ years of experience in procurement operations, global sourcing, supplier management, commodity risk management, planning, budgeting and financial reporting etc.
- Preference: 4+ years of experience in pertinent category
- Solid understanding of Ariba or Oracle procurement/sourcing applications.
- General experience or exposure to business data and/or business intelligence systems used for reporting purposes such as transportation management systems, supply chain or other indirect and information systems (ERP, automated manifesting, compliance documents etc.).
- Candidate must have strong analytical skills and ability to review and provide interpretive analysis using a variety of data sets and to develop robust analytical models and frameworks used to set or evaluate supplier/category pricing models.
- Solid project management skills including analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
