Overview

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our dynamic team at the Lutron Costa Rica operation. As a member of our cross-functional engineering team, you will conceive, design and develop innovative and intuitive products that help users save energy, improve comfort, and enhance the functionality of every space. In this role, your unique talents will help us discover new technologies, design techniques, and process improvement methods to bring elegant solutions to our customers.

Responsibilities

As a Continuous Improvement Engineer at Lutron you will:

  • Analyze operational data and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Promote efficiency and safety in the plant.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and other departments to drive process improvements.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to ensure equipment and consumables used are appropriate to the operations and are the most efficient solution.
  • Contribute to the 5s initiative to ensure that improvements are sustained and entrenched within the business.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, etc.).
  • Support audits and regulatory compliance as needed.
  • Ensure the lines layout, both at macro and micro levels, is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process.
  • Ensure safety policies are being followed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of implementing lean manufacturing/continuous improvement
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred; Black Belt a plus.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English and Spanish
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a self-managed work team environment.
  • Ability to work different work schedules.
