Job Description

The Senior Supply Planner collaborates with members of other geographic and functional teams to define and maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet service level and inventory objectives. Supply Planning is also responsible for leading our monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) site reviews. The supply planner operates as a subject matter expert and lead point-of-contact for matters specific to their portfolio, collaborating cross-functionally to propose needed supply adjustments and support the timely & successful delivery of product to customers.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:

Ensuring supply:

  • Acts as a tireless advocate seeking the proper balance of inventory and line fill performance for assigned product families.
  • Establish and maintain global inventory parameters which align with service level and inventory DOH goals, while minimizing expiration scrap expense.
  • Takes ownership of global backorders for assigned product families & provides supply recovery guidance to commercial partners.
  • Monitor movement of inventory within network to ensure bottlenecks are identified and addressed before impacting service.


Sales & Operations Planning:

  • Drives engagement and participation of site reviews and other S&OP meetings, including consolidation and distribution of presentation materials, key decisions, meeting notes/action items.
  • Ensure supply planning activities effectively support organizational S&OP and supply continuity.


Cross functional collaboration:

  • Develop close working relationship with operations teams and gain understanding of network capacity and use that knowledge to ensure supply plans stay aligned with long term demand.
  • Ensure the appropriate process structure, inputs, outputs, interlocks, and cadence of supply planning activity globally to ensure alignment of supply with demand forecast.


Product lifecycle management:

  • Aligns Product Management and Supply Chain stakeholders to ensure successful new product introduction and inventory depletion of discontinued products.


Continuous improvement:

  • Conduct root-cause analysis to drive improvements to key metrics including line fill performance and inventory DOH.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through project participation and leadership.


Master data management:

  • Ensure master data settings in ERP systems and other planning tools are maintained to drive proper business decisions and product flow.


Data Analytics:

  • Partner with supply chain peers in the refinement of other planning tools (PBI, analytics) to enable insights and outputs at appropriate hierarchy levels.


Other:

  • Create and maintain documentation and Standard Operating Procedures for supply planning processes and systems. Ensure planning processes meet legal requirements and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Travel:

  • Domestic and international travel should be expected but not exceed 10%.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of the S&OP/ IBP process
  • Strong analytics acumen, interpretation of data and ability to translate into insights
  • Insight & experience into IT solutions, particularly as they relate to S&OP processes
  • Results-driven. Exhibit curiosity and apply critical thinking to support continuous improvement activities
  • Constantly challenges own knowledge, experience, skills and self-understanding to improve personal and professional effectiveness
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and ERP system usage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


Work Environment:

  • Prolonged sitting in front of a computer


Experience:

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in supply or production planning
  • Medical Device/Life Sciences/ Pharma/Biotech background
  • Experience managing supply activity in a multi-plant environment
  • Power BI (or equivalent) experience


Education:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Professional certification such as CPIM, CSCP, or IBF
