We are looking for a Logistics Trade & Compliance Supervisor to join our team in Costa Rica. As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will BE working under little to no supervision and following detailed verbal, written, and hands-on instructions. Manage a team of operators to meet productivity and quality goals by performing the following duties.
SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics operations of the organization, this role also encompasses some distribution management including transportation and sterilization. Lead the in-bound and outbound movement adhered to the trade regulations. Plan transportation and distribution routes, select 3rd party providers of distribution services, analyze budgets, and process shipments. Work as a complementary liaison with the government’s trade organizations to ensure compliance with the local legislation while ensuring the continuous flow of goods and services to support the operation. This role will lead a group of teams and maintain strong relationships with transportation partners.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of international and free trade zone logistics, customs regulations, and operational excellence. This role requires strong leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to optimizing workflow processes within our logistics team.
This role works towards exceeding expectations for safety, quality, reliability, cost, delivery, and responsiveness to continuously improve the manufacturing/distribution operation. It is expected to be an example for leading and motivating team members.
Supervise team responsible for processing stock, transfer orders and orders that require special processing. Assist other customer service groups on an as needed basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Have supervisory responsibilities.
Leadership: Supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work, and the review and approval of tasks.
Supervises:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in international Trade, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management with 5-7 years of experience in Logistics function. - Master's degree preferred
Ability to work in a self-managed work team environment.
Ability to work differing work schedules.
Good written and oral English communication skills required - Level: B2+ (80% - 89%).
Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Define and execute the best practices within the logistics role, manages all import/export activities that include raw material, equipment, spare parts or any other company need.
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and FTZ regulations. Including inventory management, shipping, warehousing, and distribution processes.
- Supervise and mentor logistics staff, providing training and guidance to enhance team performance and professional development.
- Manage the customs documentation process, ensuring all shipments meet regulatory requirements for efficient clearance.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Purchasing, Planning, etc.) to align logistics strategies with business objectives.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers and logistics service providers, negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in logistics operations.
- Assist in developing and managing the logistics budget, optimizing resource allocation and tracking expenditures.
- Analyze logistics data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and drive strategic decision-making.
- Develop, update, review and approve SOPs and work instructions. Responsible for updating metrics, monitoring errors and ensuring quality customer service to internal and external customers
- Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
- Leadership and coordination of distribution and logistics as well as all the key areas of the company where movement of goods is required
- Supports the development of departmental budgets and expenditure. Prepares monthly operating performance metrics, and other operational summary report outs
- Ensure employee training is documented and up to date
- Responsible for completing adequate performance documentation on time.

- Develop, implement and clearly communicate strategies, goals, and objectives that will improve supply chain performance and reduce costs
