Position Summary

Responsible for inventory accuracy and the safe movement of customer product from the receiving area to storage, and from the post-processing area to the pre-shipment storage area. May perform Material Handler, Production, or Production/Warehouse Assistant duties as needed. Depending on the operating environment, this is a highly physical role requiring strength and endurance.

Duties

What You Will Do

  • Maintains product inventory by receiving, identifying, labeling, and storing product within the shipping and receiving area until its eventual transfer to the unprocessed storage area; retrieves product from processed product storage and prepares it for shipment.
  • Maximizes throughput and minimizes downtime by monitoring equipment used for product movement and transfer; performs minor repairs and refers major breakdowns or unsafe conditions to the Warehouse Supervisor or Maintenance Department; maintains a clean and orderly work area and performs material handling and production functions as needed.
  • Contributes to processing accuracy and product accountability by reviewing receiving and shipping documentation; makes appropriate corrections and documents product movement before and after processing.
  • Processes product according to specifications when qualified through training and certification.
  • Maintains and improves technical skills, knowledge, and capabilities through assigned training.
  • Works safely and incorporates safety into all aspects of the job.

Required Experience

Education Requirement

  • Completion of Secondary Education (9th Grade or equivalent).

  • Demonstrate above-average organizational and analytical skills, along with basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers, multiplication and division of tens and hundreds by 2, 3, 4, and 5, and the ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills through prior experience.
  • Adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
  • Possess normal hearing ability sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, and other warning signals.
