Directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of maintenance and electrical engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through the coordination of others.

  • Plans and implements engineering program, including defining the project philosophy, activities, milestones, and staff requirements, per project requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering/maintenance project.
  • Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Applies knowledge of the NEC (National Electric Code) for various applications.
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyor and programmable controllers.
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Provides reports on the status of project milestones and adjusts schedules accordingly.
  • Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Confers with management and production to determine engineering feasibility and cost effectiveness of projects.
  • Identifies project staffing requirements and coordinates staffing with supporting organization managers.
  • Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
  • Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans.
  • Provides status and progress reports to project team and management.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and others are performed in a safe manner.
  • Resolves problems using solutions that involve new techniques, technologies, or concepts.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
